PowerFantasm and Fantasm are available only direct from Lightsoft. We do not use distributers or any other form of middle men. This is to keep costs down.
Why should you register Fantasm?
a) For the sense of Honour.
b) Because its a good product.
(still not convinced huh?)
c) Because you don't get the annoying bits.
d) Because it isn't limited.
e) Because registering gives you lots of information.
f) Because we try to help people who have registered.
g) Because people who register always get priority treatment when it comes to upgrade time, and get the next
version at reduced costs, if not free.
h) Because if you find a bug thats stopping you, being registered means we will probably 'stop, listen, fix and
upgrade' you for nothing.
i) Because you get all the bits you don't get in the unregistered distribution, including all the tools you need, the
reference manual (mandatory!), example projects, full beginners guide, the source code for the libraries, headers
etc.
j). Because we publish hints, tips, Q&A's, other peoples examples, bug reports, anything that concerns Fantasm and our users.
k). We actively promote feedback in order to get an idea of what people want to see in Fantasm and future products.
l). Because we spend ages on post production, ensuring you get a system you can have confidence in.
m). Because Lightsoft is run by professionals - professional programmers, graphics people, testers, proof readers etc.
n). Because if you need a facility, and we can see a wide use for it, you'll probably get it in a future release.
o). Because we prefer our customers to grow with us. We take pride in our tech support service, and have customers who have used Fantasm all the way from V1.00. Our upgrades are sometimes free (as in the case of V4.05) and sometimes charged, but never highly.
Of all the reasons above, we personally would find i) the most compeling reason, coupled with the fact that a programming tool like Fantasm IS PART OF YOU. It becomes your gateway into the computer. For how many hours do you exchange with it?
We LIKE to give out unregistered copies. OK, so we do cripple them a bit*. BUT we cannot possibly support the development of such a large project without cash input. The time alone makes us vastly underpaid. At least we don't charge what obscene amounts various other 'development tool' producing companies charge for
their wares.

What disks do I get with the registered version?
These descriptions are tentative only - Fantasm is an ongoing product, and we reserve the right to change the package makeup at any time. At the time of writing these are our best guesses.
Fantasm V4 68k comes on three HD disks and expands to about 8 Megabytes.
PowerFantasm comes on 6 HD disks and expands to 19 megabytes, as we include lots of general PowerPC documentation and useful bits and pieces.

153 A4 page reference manual including all PowerPC instructions, Fragment description, etc.

How do I pay?
We accept payment by:

Cheque (or "check" depending on where you are reading this). i.e. if you live in America, send us personal check for $70 and we'll do the rest.

If you send us your email address, we'll let you know when we dispatch your order. We send via airmail for the fastest possible delivery. If you wish to make an additional donation, that will be looked upon most highly, as by the time bank charges and postage charges are taken into account, we make very little.
The best way to pay as far as we are concerned is in UK cash. For example if you send us a check in your own currency, we have to pay 4 uk pounds just to get it converted.
